This is a 14.5 "(36.83cm) X 1.5 yard (1.37m) long piece of light weight deadstock silk ( new but unsold stock) from the 1980's. This is an example of the very well-made synthetic silks which Japan started experimenting with in the 1980's as the cost of silk rose; This looks and feels very much like silk but is polyester. Background is dark blue with tiny falling flower petals(white) throughout the background; motifs are temari(ball) like and show deer, bunnies and flowers. Distinctive yet true to the traditional aesthetics. Patterns are on both sides but side shown is meant to show. Condition: EXCELLENT Fabric still strong, like new, Recommended for a variety of creative applications.
