We are offering this fabric in minimum 14 inch X 1.5 yard (35.6cm X 1.37m) long pieces of light weight deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1960's; This cotton's design is indigo blue (almost black) and white with background of geometric thatch grid of rectangles running vertically; also a dark field which has traditional stylized pine trees also running lengthwise; Fans are spaced along the center two dark columns with the characters for the name Wakamatsu (literally: Young Pines) placed diagonally (see close-ups). This is a cotton originally was intended to be used to make summer kimono (called a yukata); Fabric is strong, like new, still firm; colors have not faded, looks as if it was made yesterday. Recommended for quilters or any variety of creative applications.
