Overview
of Yoko Trading's
Vintage Japanese Kimono Fabric Pieces Section
(Version:
June 30, 2010)
Most of the fabrics here are taken from rolls or bolts
originally used in making traditional Japanese kimono(s); sometimes
we also take apart vintage kimono(s). We usually cut them into lengths
of one (.91m) and 1.5yds(1.37m); widths vary from 13.5 to 15.5
inches (34.29cm to 39.37cm), depending on how old the fabric
is. From time to time we offer a grouping of similar pieces sold as
a lot; less frequently we put here some parts or whole vintage Japanese
banners or other interesting pieces. On rare occasion we have interesting
kimono garments by piece. When we do have them they are here.
Our most popular fabric product is our line of bulk
kimono packages, sold by the pound with 10lbs. minimum. Full details
on the bulk products begin here.
If you have a project for which you may need more than
the listed length of a particular fabric, please query
us and we'll let you know how much we have of the particular fabric.
For recommendations on scraps/small pieces of vintage kimono, we have
someone we recommend, found in our links
pages. To contact us about any of this, please be sure you've
read item descriptions as well as all our FAQ
sections and if that doesn't answer your question, please contact
us by using our web mail form.
