FAQ: What about Your Shipping Charges? Why don't you charge shipping? What do you mean -- exactly -- by 'shipping included'? Isn't it 'tricky' to say 'free shipping'? How do I know I'm not over-paying for shipping?

For Continental USA Shipping

Shipping Calculations Method for "Cost Included", all items except 110-A, by-pound vintage kimono, which always go UPS ground:

Well, we never say that it's 'free'. We have a longer explanation of the how's & why's HERE, but basically, in a nutshell this is how we arrive at the item prices you see in the web catalog --Before posting item to the site we do the following:
  • Get our in-house list price for an item and add the actual cost (per www.ups.com) to ship it from our zone (in USA Postal zip 19711) to same zone. This is the lowest rate possible.

  • We add that amount to the list price, rounded to nearest whole dollar and the total is the price listed in the web site.
We realize that when we ship to farther locations that our profit is slightly less, but the convenience is worth it to us, and moreso because we believe that it is better not to be 'penny-wise and pound-foolish', as we explain here.
Still aren't sure? Drop us a line.
