Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight soft silk is translucent, in pale peachy-pink color with sheen in the interwoven design areas; interwoven patterns are of sensu open fans and streams, as well as flowers and leaves within the sensu; The rectangular figures seem to be old-fashioned (pre-modern Japan) books, or, possibly kimono fabrics, all decorated with flowers, inclding cherry blossoms;  Fabric taken from an under-kimono (nagajuban),  nice quality silk, some drape; good for making scarf or accessories.
