Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s deadstock never-used kimono fabric from bolt; From maker as undyed kimono fabric intended for making woman's kimono or possibly nagajuban.

Fabric Description: Undyed off-white lightweight fabric, slightly translucent has interwoven designs of classical royal carriage with drapery banners in the wind (These are classic designs and represent the type of large banners that would be set up surrounding the encampment of royalty or ranking samurai clan leaders when traveling during pre-modern times in Japan; These would be flowing in the wind); These designs are interwoven, in relief, and slightly textured;  this fabric was probably originally intended for being dyed to make a  woman's kimono, or possibly an under kimono (nagajuban); fabric has a strong sheen on one side and slight drape;  this is good quality silk.
