Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Light-medium weight silk is a 1980s piece from a woman's kimono; the fabric background is mix of iridescent  blueish-gray and grayish=blue, with metallic sense through pixelating;  Jimon motif is a distinctive look that has a cloud-like pattern, but at the same time in classic Japanese art and design, jimon is evocative of not only clouds but possibly marshland or, morning fog over a still pond; the fabric  texture is rough due to the interwoven pixelated jimon; furthermore, depending on lighting,  slight drape; Effects and colors described ar mostly on one side.

Colors: Please consider our text descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric, as colors and contrast differ on different devices.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.

Condition: Excellent.
