Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This lightweight silk piece is a red color,minimally translucent, derived from a woman's kimono; the fabric has an interwoven pattern throughout of very large scale open decorated Japanese fans with decorative cords; Foreground motif is very large Orizuru, Origami cranes  with clusters of many flower types - seems like ikebana vase full to us; colors of designs: iron-red, purple, green, moss-green, lavender, light blues, black, plum, off-white, and multiple hues of green; intended for  one-side display; soft and slight drape; sheen is brighter in the interwoven flowers.

It is recommended for making scarf/accessories.
