Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s fabric from kimono pieces  from an Arai Hari (special Japanese kimono cleaner -- see info on Arai-Hari HERE from John Marshall, expert on Japanese textiles .

Fabric Description Details:

This type of silk is derived from a nagajuban (under-kimono) for women, it has a nice drape and sheen throughout; colors are gradation from soft-ivory white to very pale pastel pinks in gradation coloring; The full fabric is a cascade of swirling cursive streams and dots (bubbles?);The colors are in bands that run diagonally, alternating white to the pinks;  In the white bands are textured dots and classic shibori patterns (see our last closeup);fabric has good drape and the feel is soft; The design is same on both sides. though one side has slightly more sheen.

Great for making scarf, accessories.
