Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type & Motifs:: Very light, sheer thin summer silk, weave is called "Ro"( we call it 'skip-stitched'); color background is itself in gradation from left to right as pale aqua-white to grays; Printed front has appearance of 3 layered background, at bottom are pinstripes running in parallel vertically (warp), whereas the mid- foregfround stripes are undulating burgundy color (Please view closeups); Full foreground is the large white orbs and small bubbles, white, red, and yellow; Quite an unusual design.

Condition: Excellent.

Recommended for making scarf and accessories.
