Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.Fabric Description: This is lightweight chirimen silk derived from a 1980s woman's kimono; Background color is a light cream-white color with fabric background textured due to chirimen; Motif is 4.5 inches/ 10.16cm diameter stylized floral figures in alternating placement lenghtwise; Colors of these figures: dark red, mauve, pale to dark blues; same on both sides, slight drape and slight sheen.
