Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight silk is a 1980s piece from a woman's kimono; the fabric background is rust-red with white pixelated and small dots used to render designs; The Theme is water, various streams, ponds, fans, toy(mallet) Uchide no Kozuchi (Lucky Mallet), and flowers are most everywhere (please see closeups): As for colors: There is a predominance of earth tones, moss and other hues greens, blues and whites; Overview of the fabric shows multiple cursive lines making pond or other fields that are many geometric and classic designs; designs on one side only; slightly textured, minimal sheen, slight drape.
