Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE .

Fabric Description: This delicate thin & lightweight silk piece is a salmon-pink with dark plum colors as background; piece is translucent, derived from a woman's kimono; the fabric has an interwoven pattern throughout of clouds, flowers & pines, classic rendering; Thes are scarcely visible except up close and dependent on lighting; MOtif is imperial (royal) flower cart replete with many types of flowers - again in classic retro rendering; The dark plum color cloud shapes also have white-silver fringes; This is striking and the motif fills the fabric; colors of designs: iron-red, purple, blues,green, moss-green, lavender, light blues, black, plum, off-white, and multiple hues of green; intended for one-side display but is so thin that even on reverse you can see all the flowers etc; soft and slight drape; sheen is brighter in the interwoven flowers & clouds.

It is recommended for making scarf/accessories, even display.
