Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s Japanese pongee silk fabric for making woman's kimono; deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making silk kimono; 100% Japanese silk; Received as a full roll.

Fabric Type: Lightweight, translucent silk originally for use in making a kimono; the fabric is solid black with a hint of dark brown; weave causes a slightly textured feel to the touch; little drape.

Suitable for Sashiko work, Quilting, and other sewing projects.
