dividerFabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is thin, almost sheer, lightweight silk derived from a 1960s woman's kimono; Background color is dark navy-blue with off-white designs/figures:Geometric bands running lengthwise (warp); print designs intended for one side, but slightly seen on reverse; The elements of design are very small dots and rhombic shapes used symmetrically in often obtuse-angled bands(best explained by viewing our last 2 close-ups) Note: These small-sized designs are sometimes called komon (lit. tiny mon/crests); some drape and light sheen.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.

Colors: Please use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the colors, as color and contrast differ on different devices.
